Neyah Barbee
[SHE/HER]
If art and writing were a venn diagram, Neyah Barbee would sit contentedly in the middle. Professionally, she works as a Story Production Coordinator at DreamWorks Animation TV. As an animator, playwright, screenwriter, and prose writer, she uses creativity as a form of shared self-exploration. She renders stories that celebrate the revelations of everyday life with the hope that it inspires people to look at themselves and be unafraid of what looks back. Neyah is part of the admin team of lighthouse darkroom.

Judy Battaglia
[SHE/HER]
is a clinical associate professor of communication studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Her work and teachings explore rhetoric, gender, culture, anti-racism, performance, intersectional and intergenerational feminism, disability justice, and mental health advocacy. She serves lighthouse darkroom as an advisor and mentor.

Kaelyn Sabal-Wilson
[SHE/HER/] @kae_elms
is a writer, performer, poet, photographer + artist from Riverside, California. In December of 2020 she graduated with distinction from Goldsmiths University of London with her master’s degree in Creative & Life Writing. Her stirring work spans local and global explorations of girlhood, womanhood, queerness, blackness, and otherness. Sabal-Wilson uses her refreshingly tender, occasionally tantalizing, and deeply telling work to conjure and contain the stories that move her. she is the lighthouse darkroom founder.

Makeen Yasar
[HE/HIM] @makeen_yasar
Dedicated to the health and healing of our community, Makeen Yasar is an organizer, poet, performer, and health care advocate in the Los Angeles Community. He actively aids in the development and implementation of pipeline programs for underrepresented students, working full time at the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine in the Office of Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. His work, both creative and health related, resonates with, speaks to and celebrates the resilience of black people. He also serves as a community organizer with the Brothers, Sons, Selves Coalition, and he is the Founder and Co-Director of the Umoja Health Project. Makeen is part of the lighthouse darkroom admin team.
